I have the 11th edition that I've held on to since high school and, at last, I know why. Because this book breaks down the basic punctuation marks, writing techniques, and logistics of editing into easy to read chapters that are simple to understand.

It answered all of my questions and I'm thrilled that I've kept it around for the last 20 years. If you have a chance to get a copy: DO. A bunch a grammar and writing and technical writing information is intertwined within this book. This book is a great companion at your fingertips for any writer: journalist, fiction, and non-fiction, or personal and professional writing.

It will take some time to read through it, in chunks, of course. But clearing the time to read it is well worth it. Its approach is practical, its advice is clearly and concisely stated, and its purpose is to help students become more effective writers.
